WTF, dealer wants to plug car to internet in order to find radio code?!?
I've got a refurbished symphany radio and it's in safe mode, so I go over to my local audi dealer and ask what can be done to unlock it since I DON'T HAVE THE CODE, but they tell me it's next to impossible and that my car would have to be hooked up to the internetso that audi headquarters can scan it... Sounds like bull to me, can anyone help me with this one? I've read that normally I can just bring my car in and they can look it up, but the problem is that I've got a REFURBISHED one...help!
U know that's the thing, it seemed like they didn't want to do and they were just telling me that to make me go away. Also they wanted me to make an appointment and the next one was in a month.
Germany is where the code comes from, we don't have them.
So yes we have to hook up the scanner to the car and then plug and ethernet cable to the scanner and send the radio info over to germany and they will ping the code back to us.
But now the information is available on elsa web if you havea special code, (which i do) so if you PM me your VIN number and radio serial number (AUZ #) i can give you your radio code from my computer.
This only seems to work on sympthony radios not concerts.
