Whats the best bulb size to go with in the bixenon Kit? Also is it safe to use in the Euro Projector headlights?

when u order them, u have to specify which one u originally have. like u can't use d2s if u have h7 bulbs.

Got a quick question that sorta fits this, does anyone know what the OEM Audi bulb temperature is on a 2001?

For HIDs, it's 4300k. All the OEMs use that temperature - the apparent color differences are due to differences in the lens and projector designs from company to company.

hiwords,

Thanks forposting the link to eBayregarding the HID upgrade kit. My new 2006 A4 3.2 does not have xenons and I really miss them, having had them on my last Audi. (Note to self: Should have test driven at night!) The halogens I have now aretruly pathetic on lowbeam. I checked on an upgrade to xenon, and my dealer alsoquoted 3K. Not gonna happen. My salesman suggested Sylvania UltraH7s. I bought a pair, but the service manager recommended not putting them in, because he said there could be a problem with the lenses being damaged. I foundthis odd, since Sylvania's site lists this bulb for my make & model. Anyway, that's when I found your post. I was considering checking with a reputable independent Audi mechanic.

Thanks,

jresh

Can anyone say bullsh!t, there are a ton of people buying Sylvania bubs, not had a single problem with it. the reason he said that is because of the temperature differences of the light bulb, and on some cars they even told me it melted the headlight housing. once again bullshit because they want to sell you their 3000 one put in the bulbs its fine.

OEM d2s is definitely the only way to go - other options look foolish IMHO (and that of everyone I've ever talked to about it IRL ...)

d2r's would also work if for some reason you have them or they are really cheap, but since this is a projector you'd be missing out on some output due to the reflector.

Osram and philips are the best suppliers, not a coincidence that they are also the OEM supplier.

Yes, I second this.

If you are interested in a more DIY approach, check out my thread here ('audi a6 halogen to bi xenon upgrade - pics', or https://www.audiforums.com/forum/audi-a6-9/%5Bcomplete%5D-audi-a6-halogen-bi-xenon-upgrade-pics-96448/) It might help you figure out what will fit. I have a lot of the important dimensions documented.
