yellowish oil contamination
Hi there--

I'm new to this forum. I was checking the oil in my '02 A4today and noticed a rather thick, yellowish-tan substance on the tip of the dipstick. (Tempting, I know, but no jokes please...). The oil level was fine and the color and consistency of the oil on the stick appeared to be okay, but mixed in was this odd substance. As I wiped off the stick and rechecked it, the amount of the contaminant became less and less, but it was still there. The car has been driving fine. Any clues as to what this could be? A coolant leak into the oil?

it was probly water when you get water in your oil it turns yellowish ormilky white if your lucky its due too condensation in your crank case but if you still have the yellow film after it runs for a while you probly have a blown head gasket
Is it still under warranty? If so, I'd have the dealer at least look at it, if for no other reason but to document the issue. Keep an eye on the coolant level, make sure it's not going down...
