Yes, another chip + DV question! :)
I just got my 05 A4 B6 from rusnak of TO about a month ago. My family has bought 3 cars from the same guy over the course of a year.
Anyway, he comes up to me (im 16) and says "Would you like to chip your car?" I had no idea what it meant and he further explains "Well, it adds 30 hp and 3 extra MPG. It won't void your certification" <<<Which my parents so closely live by.
Anyway, so I called him later and he is referring to the neuspeed chip which I've read around here isn't the best. He said don't go with REVO or the others because "you will get warranty issues."
So, he said the neuspeed chip, done by his "performance place of choice" won't void the warranty.
BUT, I've read so many times here that I will need a new DV because the stock one will fail in a matter of time.
My question is, will they cover it? (do you even have any idea? is it just a specific "if the dealer is an asshat"?)
If not, which DV should I be looking at?
Thanks.

for the money, you can get a 710n (tt225) for around 30 bucks, and it will hold your boost just fine
i dont know how much they would charge you to do it.. but if its the list price for the chip.. then deffinatly skip the neuspeed

neuspeed is not popular among the B5 crowd due to its less than steller comparison to others like GIAC and APR. Now with the B6 it is better but still nowhere near that of REVO and APR. But neuspeed also offers a chip + injectors option for $915. Find out how much $$ he wants.
you can just get a 710n like lazer viking said, only 30 bux. as for the chip, dont get neuspeed they suck *****. if i were you i would get APR and get it with a few different programs. when you want the power just switch to the appropriate program, then when you take it to the guy to get it serviced or repaired, just switch it back to the stock settings and they'll never be able to tell you have a chip in there. and chipping only voids certain parts of warranty not the whole thing
I talked to the head of service and he said:
If youre going to chip, go with a less agressive one that won't "hurt the engine" and void other parts. He also said that if there is a check engine light, it may not be covered. "If you do chip the engine, go with neuspeed. A lot of our customers go there and we havent had that many problems with them."
