I see I'm not the only fat *** that drives and Audi and breaks the seat ... Because of my A4, I now have to go on a diet so I stop breaking stuff.

Anyway, thanks for all the info, especially the DIY ... I'll fix it this weekend along with my broken oil dipstick sleeve.

I broke my seatback trying ot check my lumbar b/c I thought it was broken - it wasn't. I got a $5 epoxy tube from Home Dopey (the kind where there are two separate tubes of goo that mix when you need it to form an epoxy) and used that to fix the broken clip. I did it up and propped the piece up while letting the thing rest in the sunlight a few hours. It held and hasn't given me trouble since.

There's a TSB on the seat backs. The little plastic clips that latch the bottom of it on are weak. Your dealer has metal replacements they can install that will solve this issue.

This is the second time the lumbar support broke. The first time the dealer replaced it for some absurd fee. This time around - $10

Hey, I just got done fixing this. I used a very cheap method that "Road_Tripper" used.

I ordered the same drawer slide he uses: KV 1129 Center Under Mount Drawer Slide ($10)
I slid the metal bar into place; it fits quite nicely.
I used 3 zip ties to keep it stable and in place.
I hot-glued the seatback's bottom broken clips back on (they won't be stressed much)

You can see pictures of this fix, and others here:

btw, this is apparently very common part failure for tall and large people.
