Young guy, New or Used Audi - Help
ORIGINAL: 1998ta__1991rs
im another young guy(20)that has bought new cars (2 actually), I had a really good job and money saved up out of high school and bought a 2005 F150 Crew cab. I drove it for about a year and sold it to buy a 2006 Trailblazer SS. The sticker on the TBSS was 41k and i got it out the door for 26,500$ put 10k down on it and my payments are 326/month. I think the tbss was a smart move for me mainly b/c ive driven it for 27k miles since last december and book value is still more than i paid for it. If you plan on keeping it for a while get what you really want, if you plan on buying a new car every year or 2 get somthing that will retain its value well, or even lease it.

a car is never a finacial investment. an investment earns you money. a vehicle will only lose you money. if you really want an 08, and are concerned over the cost, here's the logical financial choice:buy an older used lexus/infiniti for 5-6k. in 2 years, sell it for 5-6k, no loss on your end. @that point, buy the 2 year old 08 in the low 20's. someone else took the 15-20g hit, you've had a nice, reliable luxury car. the adui still has plenty of its life, in most cases, its just starting to wear in. sounds like a lot of this purchase is to out do your friends' new cars.
Ok, so as I watch the Redbull Airrace, I think I have come to terms with this. I have decided to find a good used A4 2001-2004ish, 1.8t quattro. just 2 minutes of looking produced 30+ within 200 miles with 50k or less milesfor 20k bucks or less. So thats the plan. Part of it was to show off a bit, but with my goal of buying a large chunk of land, and building a house within 7-8 years, going out and buying a 35k car right now would be no bueno. Thanksto those who offered insite.
What do you guys think about this car???? I'm thinking bout dropping by tomorrow, since its like 15 miles away from me. Probably talk it down a little maybe..no? Whats your guys take on this.
