Young Professional looking to buy an 07 or 08 A4
I am a young professional who makes around $46,000 a year. I really love Audis but have never owned one. I have heard they are very expensive to maintain. I am hoping to get some more details about that. Do they break down a lot or known to definitely have issues? Or is it more that the normal oil change, check up, etc maintenance is expensive?
I know I can afford to buy one I just want to make sure I can afford to own one. I do not want to be spending thousands a year to keep my car maintained.
Also, if you think this is not the car for me can you recommend anything else?

Rule of thumb
If you cannot afford to "OWN" one ( meaning maintenance and upkeep ) then you cant afford to buy one either
07s are around 17k-21k these days. I wouldn't spend half of my yearly income on a car. Especially one that is going to cost a shitload of money if something inst covered under a warranty.
Just sayin, live wlel below your means now, and it pays off ten fold later in life

15g is a good chunk of down payment for a car that will prob cost 20k or so.
I'm in the same position as you are mate. I make a decent amount of loot coming out of school ( lucky i know ). I could have spent a lot of cash on a newer Audi a4/a6 but instead, i bought a 2001 with less than 100k on the clock for like 5gs. Quality is Quality. I see newer audis and and fast European cars and I sometimes regret it. But I look at my bank statements and think that it was the financially responsible decision.
Know the difference between what you want and what you need.
Also keep in mind you don't have to listen to me at all lol.
