2.0 Fuel Module Failure A5
My 2011 A5 w/9000 mi just stopped running like the fuel was shut off. Not in a good place either. No breakdown lane or cell service. Had to tow it and turns out the fuel modulater on the fuel pump failed. Car stopped dead w/no warning light whatsoever. Ok stuff happens but they could not locate the part in any of the part depots. Had to pull one of the line in Germany. Took 11days to get it back. I can still smell fuel in the vehicle. Not acceptable. Anybody else have similar issue?
I had the exact same problem, not only one but two different times!
My A5 is a 2011 premium plus, AT. I think this is a terrible and extremely risky problem.
The first time ocurred when the car had around 2000 miles, I was driving when suddenly the engine turned off. I went to Classic Audi in Westchester, NY and they said that the car had a failure in the fuel module, they replaced the piece and that was the only explanation I got.
Then about 4 months ago, when the car reached around 4500 miles, I had the same problem again. Classic Audi was not able to explain why this happened and they only advised that it was installed an updated version of the module.
As of know the car is a around 6500, I haven't had any problem but again I don't really feel confident in the car since this can occur at any time.
I would never buy Audi again.
