Default Are dealers willing to deal on the A5?

On several other forums that I subscribe to, I've found vast information on how to get the best deal on a vehicle that I was interested in.

Bimmerfest would post the invoice and european delivery prices.

I've found that in the case of Jeep Wranglers, if you join an affiliation (Tread Lightly) you are guaranteed 1% UNDER invoice on Jeeps and other Chrysler vehicles.

Are there any secret places or advice on getting the best deal on an A5?

Thanks,
Spartacus_33

Shop around. Talk to various dealers. Get their best price. Then circle back. Everything in life is negotiable (well, almost everything).

1% under invoice is nothing. The dealer invoice is artificial because they do not pay invoice after volume discounts and promotions. It really comes down to supply and demand. If the A5 is selling well and the dealer is shoving them out the door without having to pay floorplan (interest to keep the on the showroom floor), he won't deal. Your best bet is to shop a couple dealers and play them against each other, and try and drive a deal at the end of the month when they want to make their numbers. Also, shopping for a 2011 when the 2012s are now out may save you some bucks.

1% under dealer invoice sounds great! Has anyone out there (normal folks) gotten that or less on an Audi? I was happy enough to get dealer invoice plus $500 on a $53,000 A5 (that's what you pay through truecar). Your other advice is on the nail. The only function of the salesman is to wring extra cash ou of you... I've never learned stuff from the salesman I didn't know already. The transaction should take an hour, and you're out the door. Not the three hours they'd like you to be dangled at their whim.
