Thanks ,

I would keep your oil purchase bills and go to Audi and have them watch you fill the vehicle until it gets close to the consumption rate. Document dat, milage, and amounts. Apparently there are Vin#s known from mid 2009-2012 with the 2.0 TFSI engine. Mine appears to be repaired with the replacement of the piston and rings, at least no oil use in the first 700 miles.I am not certain how many vehicles were sold, but imagine the hit to the bottom line if all were to be repaired at once. So the issue is known by Audi or they would not have initiated new rings and pistons under production.

I think the mileage on the car in total over this time is 5000 miles

The dealer says one Litre per 500 miles is " normal "

JOKERS

I took the car for a part exchange at Audi but the funny thing is, I honestly don't want another audi :-))) that's why I said no thanks.

My best friend had an Audi TT and she's refilling oil monthly .. She's so fed.

I remember the dealer saying ' get a few bottles and out them in the boot to refill when you need to' I burst out laughing! I thought It was a car not a horse that I have to feed...

Excellent service from Audi UK who verified the OEM position and kept constant contact with me!
The local dealer and the independent garage have been superb...can't wait to get my car back next week! Meanwhile I have a brand new A5 to run around in...might just keep that lol
You think that's a good service??!!!!!! OMG
That's awful

Update: somehow the first oil consumption test didn't work as a result of the software upgrade they did at the same time. Therefore, I am on the second oil consumption test. They topped the oil up and the indicator showed oil was full. Now 250 km later and the oil indicator is down 1/3. I expect that by 1000 km it will be down to nothing or the warning may go off before the test is over.

AudiA55, I was told that normal was 1L every 3000KM, so if now they are dropping down to 1L every 1000Km, I am affraid this will be my last Audi. Actually this will most likely be my last Audi.
