New A5 convertible advice please!
Hey,
I just picked up my brand new A5 convertible (premium plus package) this morning - am very happy with it!
Only thing is on driving it the few miles to work from the dealership, I can smell a burning coming through the vents the whole way.
It has 24 miles on the odo so I'm hoping this doesn't mean it's been thrashed on a test drive? I test drove myself straight off a transport and it had 15miles on it so maybe 24 is reasonable.
I spoke with a buddy who said a burning smell is perfectly normal coming from a brand new car as the coatings, sealants bedding in, etc.
I've also heard that you shouldn't drive the car over 4k rpm for the first month, until the engine beds in.. is this right?
I also noticed it's a bit hesitant pulling away from the lights - even compared to my traded in 94 bmw 325i! I see from other posts on this forum though, that after the engine beds in, and a tune up, it can be improved? Because of this, I drove it in sport mode today as am commuting in LA.. I hope I'm not damaging the engine!
Any tips on how to get the most out of this beautiful new car and increase it's longevity would be most appreciated!
Thanks.
