$275 for Audi to update MMI firmware
I called University Park Audi in Dallas to ask them how much would it cost to update my firmware for my 2006 A6. They said it's about 2 hours to get done and $275. Why does that just seem not right?!?! My question would be, is there a download that we can just do ourselves and burn onto disc and our MMI system would just pick it up? For some strange reason my system won't store any sites I choose in the navigation. Everything else seems to work. It's very annoying. Any help on this is appreciated. Thanks gang.

Price is about right. A few forum members have tried doing it themselves and have reported frying the MMI module and then spending $1200 to replace the module. A few other forum members were able to do it themselves succesfuly.

He will need to update the MMI if it's original 06 mmi, it takes 6 CD's (I think) and a very specific process..then he'll be able to get newer maps, POI's etc..I consider it a 'must have' when I go unknown areas even though the maps are limited..nothing like my Megellan but definitely convenient, shop around for that better deal if the price doesn't include a newer Nav v DVD, talk'em in to it.

that's not a bad idea. maybe i can ask the dealer to throw in a map disc with the mmi update if i go that route. one other question is, have any of you guys bought the Navi disc from Navimaps? he is selling the 2010 navigation disc for $75 on this forum. Just seeing if anyone has used him and if the maps are legit?
