Default 00 c5 2.8 lock carrier replacement with 03 3.0 dual electric fan carrier. possible???

OK so my situation is this I got a side job fixing some front end damage to a friends 00 2.8 he needed a new lock carrier as his old one is cracked and broken in many places so I said we should replace it he went to the pick n pull n brought me the lock carrier and radiator n such etc... . So my question is this is it possible to use the dual electric fan setup that comes stock on the 03 3.0 a6 and replace the clutch fan with the electric one already in the "new" lock carrier

You may run into an issue of the 2.8 having a different fan control module than the 3.0 so the fans won't run how and when they are supposed to in order to keep the car cool enough to function safely.

Would it be a wiring issue or hardware type O' deal and if that is pretty much set in stone does the carrier have enough space for me to just remove the electric fan and how would I go about a venturi or is it not absolutely necessary n is the radiator still the same between the two models

Ok I understand because the mechanical is variable with belt/engine speed and there wouldn't really be a wayto have the electrical fan run in a similar and constistant fashion

Audi got the dual electric fans to work on the 3.0, so it is possible for them to work well enough to cool the engine. However, as I previously indicated I don't think it's as simple as a plug and play solution as the wiring is most likely different, and the fan control module is most likely different as well between the two cars. So to answer your question, it's both a wiring issue, as well as a hardware issue.

Also, use caution if you go that route because you can drive it around while it's cool out and not see any problems and then come May during the first 90 degree day run into huge problems when it's no longer capable of cooling the car quick enough.

I kinda figured that now I'm thimking that if I cut the back of the cage on the electric fan and remove the electric fan on the mechanical side I can use the venturi that is used with the other (electric) fan there should be enough room to accommodate it then I have to swap the condenser because the 03' one has one ac line on either side and the 00' has two on the passenger side then switch the passenger side electric fan from the 03' carrier with the old one and I think it should all work. I just want the money to work on my 2.7t tip needs some kinda heavy service before I start really digging in to stepping up my speed fame I'm thinking a my 3.0 bottom end stuffed with forged n balanced goodies 2.8 heads built n some god awful big turbo setup gonna have to figure out how to keep high power from murdering my tip though

And I already know a manual trans would be easier for handling high power but the tip would have a uniqueness to it n I like to stand out different than others

From what I understand, the C5 tiptronic transmission is good up until the high 300s. the 2003 RS6 pushes 450hp and I haven't heard of many of them making it into the 100,000 mile mark without transmission work.

I have an 03 2.7t that I want to start modding soon. I would be happy with 400hp but I realize with 130,000 miles on the clock, that might not be a good idea without a ton of crap needing to be replaced or broken and then replaced.

There's an interesting thread in the A4 section where a member threw a 4.2 into what I believe was a 1.8t chassis (I think?) and I think everyone was pretty skeptical as to whether or not it would fit. Sure enough, it did. It kind of makes you wonder: Could you make your own RS6 by piecing things together and using an A6 C5 chassis to build on? Now THAT would be unique!

That would be sick I think there is a thread somewhere on here about that I believe it was said it would be unbelievably expensive but that just sounds like 'scuses to me lol the only thing I know is it would have to be the wide body later year c5 guys trying that not happening without some serious fab work. I did just watch a vid bout a 2200 hp lsx powered rwd vette transaxled ek hatch civette so anything is possible
