01 vs 02 deck lid
Guys:
Hurricane Irene dropped a tree on my 02 A6 2.7T trunk lid. I found a nice replacement on eBay, same color and badges, but it's from an 01. My body shop says there seems to be a difference in the trunk release mechanism based on the part #'s. Does anyone know for sure if it is compatible? It may be cheaper to refit the relase mechanism than buy a new trunklid, paint it, etc. Thanks ofr your input.
