the car had about a half tank of gas and i expect it to go about 30 maybe 35 dollars. but it reaches 40 45 and later after a automatic click stop, i pull out the pump from the tank and gas gushes out for a minute.

anybody encounter this problem? car has 70k and no MIL. 1st time it did this. i have been getting horrible gas miles around 18 mix driving. i called audi and the gas related recall was already serviced. anyone know what it could be?

 

If this was the first time it ever happened, I would suspect a defective gas pump. While I've never had one overfill (unless I forced it), I have had them shut off way early and leave me as much as 2-3 gallons under filled. Run it down 1/2 tank and go to another gas station.
