02 2.7T Mods
1. I have had my A6 for about 2 months now and would like to know what kind of mods would be the best for performance?
2. I have the standard ugly large 5 spoke rims and would like to swap them out for the A8 style shown below but i have heard that they do not fit the 2.7T is this true?(note that rim is aftermarket but looking at orginal parts picture just for reference)

You can click the link in my sig that will take you to the VAST web site I think they have some info on the Dp's there. IF you goto AW everyone over there with a S4 has piggie Dp's and a X chip it seems. There is a local guy I have met that has piggie Dp's and an X chip in his Tip A6. He just posted that he went 13.3 at a local track.
From what I have read it seems to be the best bang for the buck.

One thought on modding the car...
Keep things balanced. Right now, you've got a well balanced car -- power is plenty enough to get you in trouble. If you're going to increase the power, you'll also want to keep in mind other upgrades like suspension and brakes. This will not only help you enjoy the performance of the car, it will keep you safer.
Do you have the sport suspension? If not, chipping the car will give you more HP without a suspension that can handle it in the turns. Upgrading with sport springs/shocks or coilovers would be a great upgrade BEFORE you chip. H-sport sway bars are also another excellent upgrade and have the advantage of being relatively cheap (<$400).
In '02, Audi reduced the caliper size on the front brakes of the 2.7T. As such, you'll want to consider a brake upgrade if you're going to significantly increase power (gotta be able to slow it down if you're going to speed it up).
Biggest suggestion is to read the forum. You'll find LOTS of discussion here on the issue of balance. I've done a few upgrades to my car but have yet to chip it. Each upgrade I've done (new wheels & tires, H-sport sway bars, short shifter) has increased the performance and enjoyability of the car significantly. The 250 original HP still put a smile on my face whenever I hit the gas. I may chip it someday, but when I do, I know that I'll have a platform that can handle it because of the other upgrades I'm making along the way.

The piggie Dp's are turbo down pipes or the section of exhaust directly off the turbo . They are the restrictive part of the exhaust directly behind the turbo. South turbo brings up a good point I have never driven in a A6 other than mine I have great breaks but you are going to want to think about checking into the breaks and suspension. Because from what I have seen the chip and Dp's are going to transform the car
You wanna watch out for OE wheels (replicas) They are usually much heavier then OEM wheels or a high quality aftermarket wheel. Just a thought. OE wheels are cheaper, sure. But you get what you pay for. Look for BBS maybe high quality wheel. Im going with the CH's in the near future I saw them on a red A6 in New Jersey, and they looked great.
