No, it will not. In 2002+, the rear part of the bumper (the valence) became a separate, changable component. In 2001 and before, it was all one piece.

If you want to do exposed exhaust tips, as I plan on doing at some point, you can simply cut through the valence as many others have done. Check out Stoney's Links (the ultimate A6 owners resource guide -- see my sig for the link) for details and DIY guides.
