Question 05 A6 Sub Install & MMI

Hey guys,

I ended up buying the A6. (3.2 C6) I havent taken much look at the audio system in this car yet, but I do know the MMI is ANCIENT. (like 10.0 or something). The owner said the reason he never replaced it was because the dealer said it could fry the MMI system in it if he upgraded. True or false?

I have a pretty high priced RE Audio sub and hifonics 1600bxi amp in my current car that im going to trasfer to the audi. My question, is it possible to hook right into the stock system, and maybe adjust bass within the MMI (even without an upgrade to the newest MMI?)

Thanks!

False. I started with 7.5 back in 2005, when I took delivery, and I am know at 33.6. The MMI upgrade eliminated the various bugs in the initial software and made the experience much more enjoyable.
