180k servicing
Guys, my A6 2003 is approaching 180000 km later this month. Wanted to know what should be my servicing plan of action? What all should be replaced? What all do I need to get checked? What does Audi recommend at 180k servicing?
Pls advice.
Cheers,

Which motor and what have you done recently? The 2.7 manual states after the 105,000 (miles - or 170,000KM) service, you shoud start over with the first service interval. Other than that, just wait for things to go on their own.

Mine is 3.0
Here is the service history:
90000 km - Timing belt replaced along with a LOT of other things (done by the previous owner at dealership)
110k - ATF oil change
119k - changed (air, oil, fuel and AC) filters, gasket, washer and spark plugs. Lube service
146k - replace C/V joints, boots, lower arm bushes, lube service
151k - ignition coils (all 6) changed
157k - front and real brake pads changed, skim front discs, lube service
168k - lube service
That's about it. So what all at 180k?

Timing belt - all over again, complete job!
and anything you have done previously in your list - repairs (on demand) ; maintenance (as per the schedule or upon your driving conditions).
10k is on the stretch side for lube service (unless your use an European oil).
ignition coils should be fine
total - easily - over $2000

Nemohm, we're talking kilometers here. Way too early for the first one, and it's too early for the second.
Our friend here shouldn't have much of a problem getting to 240 thousand kilometers before another timing belt. The first one was done @ 56 thousand miles (90,000km), and, putting another 100 thousand miles on top of that original 56 thousand miles gets you to 251,612 kilometers.
Also, he's getting the oil done every 6,200 miles (10,000km) so no problem there.
Sounds like you've got a well covered car. Just do your lube again, replace the air filter. and change your trans fluid / filter / gasket. Ensure you're ok on brake fluid and it might be a good idea to do a coolant system flush. Maybe this time around, it would be ok to change your valve cover gaskets, but only if they show signs of seepage.

Audi recommends replacing the brake fluid every 2 years regardless of kms. You also have a cabin filter that needs periodic changing. It might also be time to replace the gas filter if it's never been done. Coolant system flush should be done with the next timing belt change,

Ooo, I'm good with kilometers:
Audi changed the schedule to 115k km (from 155k km), yes a tbelt could last 196k km (on a friend’s A6) but the exceptions just confirm the rules.
Often not the tbelt is that breaks, but pulley, tensioner go south… or lose fasteners.
Listen to the engine noise, especially when cold!
(Besides, isn't 3.0l some special in regards of the schedule?)

Thanks guys.
I got my 120k servicing done at the dealership and it was a rip off. Been following up elsewhere since. And getting satisfactory results at half the price. But 180k is normally an important servicing milestone. Wanted to get it right.
Just made note of all recommendations. Will discuss with those guys and take it forward.
Cheers.
