Whats up this my official first post wee lol i am buying a 96' A6 on Sat. what are some parts i can buy to bring this car to the modern age you could say. w/out blowing a whole in my bank account??

 

Welcome to the site.......I'd say a good tune up, run high octane fueland fresh tires with a 4 wheel alignment. It seems not much can be done to help the 2.8 12v, except of course the required timing belt project. Check this site for good engine info http://www.12v.org/
Igot the96 Avant after selling my truck and thought it was a decent runner, untill my wife got a Passat with a 2.8 30v and tiptronic tranny! Big differance in engine performance.

 

thanks anything other than cold air intake? that could help w/ the engine power?

 

Not to much you can do for performance gains.
but you can always do intake, exhaust, some other goodies, but they won't do much for you.

 

I just purchased a '96 A6 Quattro with 97k miles. Discovered an intermittent oil leak at the pressure sender (only when rev'ed cold - gives a "low oil pressure" light). Any thoughts on origin?
