I have '98 a6. Last week the tail light indicater came on, I changed the fuse which was blown. It happened again just a few days later. When I changed the fuse the second the brake light bar comes on when the headlights are on. If I turn the head lights off, all is good. Headlights on, the brake light bar comes on and I get the warning in the cluster that says "brake light". Any suggestions?

 

May sound too simple, but have you checked the bulbs and connections in the tail light housing? If you're blowing fuses then something in the system is grounding out. Until you locate the problem, you'll continue to blow fuses.
