Default 1999 A6 2.8Q Low beam fail on one light

Hi Newbie here
Low beam failure on drivers side headlight only. Changed bulb and fuse but still no joy.
Any ideas greatly appreciated.

Thanks
A

Standard (H1 bulb) or High Intensity Discharge (D2S bulb) system? The standard system check is either voltage at the bulb connector or find out where it's interrupted. The HID uses a special bulb teamed with an igniter to light the gas in the bulb. When I lost my HID left side low beam, I swapped in the right side bulb to make sure it was the bulb and not the igniter -- or something else. The left bulb was kaput. By the way, I found a gentleman on eBay selling D2S bulbs for $35 apiece (normally a $125+ item elsewhere).
