Hello all I am new here. I bought a 1999 A6 avant about a month ago and have decided to put my auido system in it but for the life of me can't figure out how to remove the door panels to install my MB Quart componets. Can anyone help me out with some info or direct me to a online guide? Thank you for any help you have to offer.

 

First you must remove the window switch there is a hole in the front of the arm rest insert a small screwdriver it will depress the clip and the assembly will pop out, unhook the wires and remove switch there should be 1 screw located on the rear of the panel and im not sure where the other is but its simple to find. after all the screws are removed give the panel a good jerk straight up, panel will pop off, be careful must unplug the rest of the harness behind the panel.

 

You don't need to remove the master window switch, just pull out the two phillips screws at the top of the panel on both sides, then simply just pull stright upwards.
