2.7T Looking for transmission at reasonable price...
Two weeks into owning a 2000 2.7T, my tranny went out. Does anyone know of a good company that sells transmissions at reasonable prices?? A new one from the factory is over $5000... This price including labor will take this purchase from $14000 to $20000 in two weeks... OUCH...
Anyone else hear of a manual tranny going out in a 2.7T at 50,000 miles???

OK, I am not sure who quoted you that but mine cost $5800 for the race transmission with about $1000 worth of labor. Check out 2 bennett that is where I bought mine. Good luck bro, it hurts. also look at shokan.com they have used audi parts. Why do you have to change your tranny? Maybe its just a torque converter.
50K is really low, mine went out at ~90K and I thought that was low (I have had manual tranny's go for 200K without even needing a clutch). The local Audi dealer quoted me $6500 installed, but I had mine rebuilt for $2800. Unless you have a tranny shop youtrust or comes highly recommended I wouldn't suggest the rebuild route, these tranny are a bear to work on,not to mentionjust getting them out of the car.Fortunately the tranny shop I have taken my cars to for years has an ex-Porsche/Audi dealership mechanic on staff (of course that didn't mean he liked seeing my car come in

I knowI saw a few of them on Ebay but it's up to you if you wanted to purchase a tranny from there. They're priced decently, otherwise I would say get it rebuilt at a tranny shop.
