Question 2.7T quattro problem when stopping

I read that a few other people were having problems with the metal clanking, which lots said was from a cracked spring. Well, My car also does that, but when I hit a bump and I'm pressing the brakes (coming to a stop), My whole car starts shaking. It is an automatic, but you know how when you let off the clutch and don't give enough gas??? That's pretty much what it feels like. To get it to stop, I have to take my foot off the brake and press it again. Kinda scary when a car is coming. Would you say that is a cracked spring also? Or am I dealing with a break problem? 130K miles

This is really a guess since it's tough to diagnose from your description, but it sounds like a pad(s) is not releasing on one side causing the wheel to shimmy and the car to shake. When you hit it hard, it breaks loose. Or, it could be your ABS system going nuts in which case I have no advise.
