2.7T wheel specs
I have a 2001 2.7T with after market wheels which are no longer in production. I hit a pot hole and bent one of them and had to get all new wheels. I ordered wheels and tires on line and when I went to put them on the brakes are too big and the wheel won't seat on the rotor. not saying they didn't send me the right wheels but are there different calipers on for 2.7T or are they all the same. there's about 5/8" difference between my old wheels and the new ones. the site said "high offset" but 5/8" seems like alot of difference. would like to know so when I call them on monday to complain I know what I'm talking about. thanks.

RE: 2.7T wheel specs
You've got what are known as HP2 calipers on that year of the 2.7T (also found on the 4.2, but not the 2.8). They are definitely bigger than most and you need to make sure the wheels you get fit over them. You can put spacers on to solve the problem, but that's not an ideal solution. I'd return them and get wheels that fit properly.
Good luck.
Good luck.

RE: 2.7T wheel specs
I had the same problem on my 01 A6 2.7T. The previous owner had installed the wheels with 3/16" spacers and worn out brake pads. When I installed new pads and rotors, the wheels hit the calipers. Make sure that you take into account the width of the caliper with new pads and rotors. I have heard of people grinding a little off the outside of the caliper to gain some clearance and they have not had any problems, but this is risky considering they are your brakes. Good luck.
