2.8t?

2.8t?
Ok, this is probably a stupid question, But...I heard that the 2.8L and the 2.7LT engines are more or less the same engine just with a different bore. I'm wondering, if what ive heard is correct (or mostly correct) would it be possible to retrofit 2.7t manifolds and twin turbos onto my 2.8? I would shoot for KO4's if this is possible. Is it? What mods would i have to do to make it possible. Pro's? Con's? thanks alot for any input and I apologize in advance if any of you see this as a ridiculous question to ask lol

RE: 2.8t?
I heard you would be better off supercharging it. I was looking to make myt old 2.8 a bit faster, turned out to not be worth it, and I didnt want to ruin my car. I just sold my old 2.8 to get a 2.7T and love it.

RE: 2.8t?
I just bought my 2.8, the car has over 100k on it, and im not looking to spend huge money in mods on this particular engine. I was thinking of doing the twin turbos because it would give me all the boost I want, for around 500$ (labor excluded) through ebay. A supercharger, even used costs around 2500 so thats why i was curious about this

RE: 2.8t?
The 2.7 has stronger internals and a lower compression ratio to deal with the boost. Swapping over the 2.7 parts is possible but its not really feasable. Youd need new intake, exhaust, turbos, intercoolers, and piping. And thats just the mechanical stuff. They have different wiring harnesses and ecms. Your better off just trading your car for a 2.7

RE: 2.8t?
It's definitely possible. I researched this before I bought my 2.7T really cheap. From what I gathered, the intake plumbing and exhaust manis/turbo plumbing would all have to be added/retrofitted to the 2.8. It can be done, but even then, the compression ratio would limit your ultimate boost. Also, even the cost of the wiring harness and the tuning and conversion would be hell as it is.
Also, the bore is a lesser concern w/the 0.50mm overbore.
