Hello,

I have a 2000 A6 2.7T with 137,000 miles. My car is running very rough. The car literally bumps up and down (from the motor).

I had it scanned and the codes came up as cylinder 1 and 5 are misfiring. I was recommended to change the coils, spark plugs, and/or run fuel injector cleaner, get new injectors.

Any ideas? Thank you so much,

 

Start with spark plugs. Move coils around to see if the problem follows particular coils then replace them. Replace the ignitors on top of the air box. Run SeaFoam through your intake (might want to do this first, actually).

Personally I would swap coils first, to see if the misfires follow the coil. Then check/change spark plugs. Check/Change ignition control modules on air box. Report back after that order.

 

Had a similiar problem a week ago. It was my coilpacks. Changed them along with my plugs and its good to go.
