a freaky rain storm follow by ice storm in Austin TX two weeks ago cause water to flood my front passenger side... couldn't start the car and tow it to NW Imports and they told me the water has flood the TCU. And this WAS the 2nd Audi they've seen follow by the rain/ice storm. Same problem, TCU was damage and I am looking for a used part so i won't have to pay dealership for the new part.

do we have any people working at the dealership?

 

Don't know about the TCU (maybe you can buy one from GIAC?), but I can tell you where the water probably came from...

The battery compartment (rear of the engine compartment) has two drains in it. If that get clogs, the compartment fills with water and overflows the pollen filter into the passenger compartment. Before you run into the problem again, you'll want to remove the cover of that compartment and clear out any junk. Run a hose in there to assure that the drains are running freely.

does anyone know how to take out the tcu ... i paid vast for a tip chip and need to get it out ... all i know is that is down by the brake and gas pedal ... what do i need to take it out and what do i do to get it out??
