2000 A6 Seat Belt Warnign Light
This warning light recently illuminated on the dash. I took the car back to Audi dealer and they charged $125.00 to tell me all is in order and reset the warning light. I was repeatedly assured that the air bag system is fine. Now a few weeks later the light is again on. I tried to reset with my son's OBD computer this morning but it seems the OBD computer is only for engine management computers and does not affect this light. I am in Massachusetts and will shortly need to undergo annual inspection and am concerned that this light will cause the technician to fail the vehicle.
Does anyone know how I can reset this Air Bag sensor light so I do not need to go back to the dealer, only to be told everything is OK after paying another $125.00 to turn off a bulb?
Any help appreciated.
Thank you in advance,
Kurt

most likely the airbag light on will cause you to fail inspection
try to have someone with a vag com or another type of scanner to see if it shows a fault code. autozone or another auto parts should be able to scan it for you.
or see if an independent shop can perform the work.
