HI I have a 2000 audi a6 2.7t quattro all wheel drive with 142,000 miles it was shaking very violently at any speed especially at idol so I took it to my mechanic and he said that my valves lost compression and this is the cause of my shaking any suggestions on how to fix this problem?

Is the CEL blinking? Do you have any codes in the system. You need to give us some more information in order to accurately diagnose and help you.

Off the top of my head it may be leaks in your vacuum lines or misfires due to flooded spark plugs. Issues with the lines and bad spark plugs can produce similar dysfunction.

Check your Engine Control Module fuse. I had similar issues when I decided to pop open my dash fuses and found the little guy blown. If it is really this bad you must have a check engine light.
