2001 2.7T wheel fit (Again)
I was reading the forum regarding the problem. When I came home from
Washington, I ran into a large pot hole in NYC that damaged my original
fat-5 rims as well as the crappy tires I inherited from the previous
owner.
Thus I went about looking for new tires and maybe a set of rims.
Eventually, I found a set on ebay.

I was intrigued by the tires. Which would make it a great deal irregardless. After reading the forum, I noticed the
problem with the 01 2.7T, so I asked the seller if they will fit. He
answered: "yes!" ( as you can see on the bottom of the Q&A) Probably unaware of the peculiarity of the 01 model.
Now, the wheels arrived yesterday. They are look great, but they will not
clear the calipers. I have no idea what model these wheels are. (And was
hoping you guys might recognize them).
So now the seller ( A great guy) is offering to make spacers for me, but i dont know
what dimensions the spacers and the bolts need to be.
Sorry to trouble you guys, but im leaving in a few days for Iraq, and would
like to leave the vehicle to my parents without giving them any more
worries.
(I have already sent a PM to Boston Driver)
THANK YOU!

RE: 2001 2.7T wheel fit (Again)
Yeah I had some trouble finding wheels for my 2.7t too. Anyway the large brake calipers on the A6 2.7t & 4.2 require special offsets to clear the brakes. You can try these H&R spacers.

I think they will work for you but you should check to make sure, I'm not totally positive. Good luck with that & be safe in IRAQ. Thanks!!

yeah, those calipers have a huge lip, that is pretty much usless, then again, i am no german engineer,
The spacers work great.
The only issue you will find are finding lugs, i had to buy long studs then bolt them into the pattern, then use any lug nut really that fits, make sure they are torqued to spec..
A6 w/ 19"
