Default 2001 A6 2.7t transmission fluid change

I have the 5 speed audo triptronic (sp?) and accidentally drained the transmission fluid during an oil change (yeah I know, total rookie move and I feel pretty stupid). Anyway, I understand this transmission does not have a traditional fill plug and I have not been successful in finding detailed enough info on the web on how to fill the trans with fluid. I don't have any Audi or VW dealers nearby, closest is about 50+ miles. Anything I can do myself to refill the trans with enough fluid to have it properly checked and serviced by a dealer? I have read about a fill check plug and think I see it on the bootom of the trans pan, but not sure how it comes off, does it require a special tool? Thanks for any help and please, hold the jokes ;-)

there is (i think) a plug on the side you can use to fill (need to pump it in)
and the bottom one is a drain check plug iirc

What side is the fill plug on? Anyone got a photo or describe the fill plug?

I think there is a 'how to' available, I think on blauparts.com if you locate the trans service kit

That's what I needed. The article was helpful, although wasn't exactly the same model transmission. I ordered the trans fluid kit which includes instructions and a pump along with filter, gaskets etc. With 80k miles on my trans, it should have a filter change anyway, just wish I would have planned this exercise a little better. Oh well, live and learn!
