I am troubleshooting a friends Audi. 2001 A6 4.2 The car drives fine in reverse. I noticed that if the car is in park and you rev the motor it actually moves forward. If you put the Gear selector in D then the car moves forward only very very slowly and it seems like its in 5 gear. I jacked the car off the ground and put it in park and I am able to spin the rear wheels. The transmission is a monster to take out. Any help is appreciated.
