Hi Guys... Im new here and possibly new to Audi... I have an option to buy a 2001 Audi A6 2.7T automatic with 92K for $5,500 (from dealership that I work at)... The Carfax is immaculate.. One owner, bought and serviced here in town. Recent timing belt done @ 79K along with front and rear brakes. All the service was done at the Audi dealership. I just want to get some input on what a real "Audi" owner thinks of the car instead of the "internet". I Googled the car and I see people that have had issues with the turbos and electrical systems. I have an 01 2.7t and my daughter has an 02 and I couldnt be happier with either of them I have 88k on mine and hers has 71k we just did the timing belts in both of them and a few months back we had to change out the coolant sensor on her car other than that they havent given us any other problems. I got my daughter her car and liked it so much that I bought one for myself.

I would say as long as you dont mind the slightly higher maintenance costs associated with these cars then go for it.

CPO? not for 5500 it's not.

If i were in the market for another My first choice would be another A8-4.2 second would be a 2.7t.

See if you can get as many of the service records as possible and find out if the waterpump, rollers and thermostat were done with the TB. You should be prepared for a few hick-ups but sound good. Take it for a real good burn and get on the transmission a bit.

Echo that -- take it on an extended test ride and see how it sounds and rides. See how it tracks on the highway and if it pulls when braking. Listen to the tranny and check the tip shifts. Have them run it up on a lift and look for oil leaks from engine and diffys, or antifreeze leak on rear of bell housing from auxiliary water pump. TB change should include all tensioners, water pump, and thermostat. You should probably plan to change diffy and brake fluid at it's age. fyi, I'm at 176k with original turbos, shocks, and battery. Minor stuff wrong, but nothing I can't live with and I have no fear of taking this on a 2000 mile drive on a moment's notice. Keep $2k in the bank for minor repairs.
