a normal idle is 650? Yea generally when first turned on it hobbles around 650 but after warmed up it seems to hold more steady (less vibration/fluctuation) at just under 1k. wow it's almost identical it almost has to be something with this sensor situation. I just changed the mf's!!!

I still have this problem! Lol. Anyone new stopping by with any ideas?

for whomever can help me diagnose this problem,i will bring every ounce of my artistic skill and draw a picture of their choice! 3 mechanics have failed!

Also I might add, there didn't seem to be any significant difference when the engine was started without the cam sensors in place!

You ever figure this out? I have the same issue. 02 Audi A6 C5 3.0L Quattro w/ 92K miles. Sounds like exactly what you are describing. I just changed oil, spark plugs, ignition coil packs. Thanks
