Default 2002 Audi A6 Quattro Fault code PO741

Can anyone shed some light on this fault code? I have tracked down the TSB 320501 but only a summary which states torque convertor performance or solenoid valve stuck shut. The car runs fine and since mechanic cleared the code it has not come back. TSB also states no performance issue with this fault. New Torque convertor is $3,500 and up. Do I need to replace it or is this just a phantom code? Replacement is significant potion of the car's value. Any help would be apreciated.

The best you could hope for is the TCC doesn't get stuck again and cause a check engine light.
If it happens again the torque converter has to be replaced, end of story.
Leaving a faulty one in there is not healthy for the transmission.
