Hey,
I recently purchased a 2003 Audi A6 3.0. I am looking to do some mods, and also to get some opinions. I looked at the air filter and it is quite dirty, I cleaned it as much as I could, but I want to replace soon. Does anyone have opinions about getting just a factory k&n replacement, or should I get a cold air intake. I've read that some people even custom DIY their own cold air intakes. I've also been reading that adding cold air intake alone isn't the best, but you should also add an exhaust kit. Does anyone know a "good value" and performance kit.
To go along with that, I wanted to maybe get a chip, or maybe this unitronic upgrade software. Could someone tell me a little more about each, and/or suggest other options.
Also, does anyone have experience with installing car window tint? I am looking to maybe install myself, because I believe that I may be able to do it.
Maybe offer up any other suggestions for my car, I would like to make it perform better.

Thanks

Concensus has been there are no decent performance upgrades for the 2.8/3.0 engines. Save your money. A K&N air filter may save you some money in the long run, but won't noticeably increase power. It's a nice car with reasonable power as is -- enjoy it.

totally this!

don't bother trying to change the intake or customize the intake or buy some ridiculously overpriced intake. Just leave it be.

same thing with a chip. you aren't going to get anything except worse gas mileage. just leave it alone.

enjoy your car for the German Buick that it is.

if you are asking about how to install window tint you need to take it to a professional. trust me. no offense but if you are not in the window tinting business, you do not want to try to do it yourself. although, IMHO FISHBOWL FOR THE WIN!

If you can't afford a new paper air filter, you have the wrong car.
