ceramic up front organic in the back - brakes
Hello...my new to me 2008 A6 3.2Q had the "brakes done" about 7K miles ago. I'm assuming by the amount of brake dust on my wheels he must have used organic pads.
I've been doing some research and it appears that replacing the front pads is pretty easy; however, the rears require VAG-COM and/or special tools. I was thinking about just replacing the front pads with something low dust (ceramic?) and leaving the rears be. I figure with the money I'll save in wheel cleaner my return on investment will be about 6 months. maybe not who knows....anyways
Is it OK to mix/match the pad components?
