Default 2004 A6 2.7 Timing Belt Info.

The dealer tells me that I should replace the timing belt at 95,000 miles. Is the correct ? Also are there any web sites with good instructions and pictures on procedure to replace belt. I found some for the v8 but not the 2.7 v6.

Thanks

Sooner, I'd recommend doing it at 70-75k... You do not want to to be cheap on that and postpone... it could result in some serious and costly damage

Changing the TB at 95k miles is pushing it, but you may be lucky. So YES it needs to be changed, and YES there are plenty of DIY instructions on the web. Try audiworld and audidiy for starters. Also try this page.
You can buy a timing belt kit from Blauparts.

2002-2003 Maintenance schedules require TB replacement at 105k.
2004 - replacement is to be done at 75k.

Maintenance schedules are posted on Audi’s web sites.
