2004 A6 2.7TS Service Questions....
Hi All,
I was wondering if anyone has had similar issues with their A6's:
1.) Rough cold idle - Dealer claims service bulletin advises customers to
use lower octane (87) gas to solve the issue. Dealer refused to provide copy
of the bulletin. This makes no sense to me as higher octane gas is required
in the owner's manual, and has a lower flash point, should burn easier ???
2.) Loose driver's seat - dealer claims this is a known issue that Audi
refuses to repair - During spirited driving, the seat "clicks" back and forth - this is so annoying. Again this makes no sense to me on a brand new $45K car with 5K miles.
???
3.) Dealer made me pay a premium to use synthetic oil, and claims Audi does
not require synthetic in A6 2.7 TS ??
I bought the car from this dealer, who is the only audi dealer in 60 miles.

wow you are getting the run around from the dealer. I'm sure you are suppose to use premium gasoline and not 87. Sounds like a bunch of lies. You should Contact your Audi regional office.
the extra bucks spent on syn oil is worth it. The web is full of authoritative doc and research on this subect since 1978. As for the other two items I believe your dealer is insulting your intelligence. Call Audi USA. Today if a manufacturer wants to support dealers support like you are experiencing they go the way of Alfa USA, AMC and others as the pubic shops with their $$$$. There are BETTER Audi dealers than your local yolkel. GO 60 miles to the other one he just might appreciate your businees and make it worth the efort. There are stories I've heard where people drive 45 miles from the Indy dealer to another northern IN Audi dealer for similar reasons.
