Default 2005 4.2Q 114k Miles

I might buy 2005 Audi A6 4.2Q 114k miles. The tranny rides smooth and the engines shows no leaks. Custom Corsa exhaust, fully loaded. 4 New sets of tires, he did gasket repair. I love Audi but I know at times they can be trouble just need some thoughts or what I should offer him? I'm thinking $11,000? Also what the worst problems you heard about this year/model? The car is beast and I don't care about how much gas it wastes bec I love the power. From what I look on the forums I cant seem to find any big problems with this year/model? Thanks for all the help.

FWIW I just bought my 2000 A6 4.2 for $6,500.

It has 110k miles, new shocks and lowering springs, sway bars, rims, led taillights, tint, a custom exhaust, intake manifold spacers, and some other stuff. The interior was dirty, but the exterior was in great condition. I thought it was a good deal. It was about KBB for the car, and the mods were just a bonus I guess.

Put the transmission in manual mode and run it through the gears getting on the highway. Watch the RPM needle and see if there is any hesitation or slipping in any of the gears. From what I hear, the v8 is solid... but keep your eye on the transmission. I am enjoying mine... getting 15mpg city.
