Default 2005 A6 MMI Bluetooth

I have a 2005 A6 MMI, on which Bluetooth Phone Prep is standard according to Audi's build sheet. However when i try to discover the car with my phone, nothing is detected. I have read somewhere that there should be a bluetooth logo on the MMI interface somewhere when the radio is enabled. I dont have a bluetooth logo on my display. When i hit the telephone button, it says "telephone is not installed"

Is there some way to enable the bluetooth radio and get my phone connected to it without a VAG COM cable?

Thanks!

There is no bluetooth logo on the display.

If you have connectors inside the center arm-rest, your car is prepared for phone, and have bluetooth, if you do not bluetooth is not installed.

Sounds like you dont have it to me.
