clearing engine malf. light
Does anyone know an easy way to reset the system to see if any codes will clear? I would try disconnecting the battery, but it seems too difficult to get the radio code back (manual page is missing) with that method.
Thank in adv.

One would be surprised if there is any easy way to clear codes - would you be happy if any crook could clear easily the codes 2 min before selling the car to you?
BTW- unless you have an ancient car - there should be no issues disconnecting the battery.

Don't worry about the radio code. I never had issue with it disconnecting the battery. Perhaps if you left it off for a couple of hours you may have a problem, but I never had any issue disconnecting it for a several minutes.
Anyways, back to the point, you need an OBD II reader to reset the code.

Paludi -- you obviously have little knowledge about your Audi.
First the radio code - If you don't have it you'll have to get it from the dealer. Pulling the radio is no big deal. some Audis retain the code for awhile when the battery is off, but some don't. Dealers usually charge $75 -100 for the code.
second CEL -- you need VagCom to clear it. If you don't know what VagCom is do a search in this forum and see what your missing.

Most will read the codes but not clear them.. Something to do with liability...
Also you have to be careful with OBDII. It is not VAGCom!
Althought some of the information is common, OBDII has been known to give false info when used on an Audi.
