Default 2005 A6 MMI Software Issues

I recently purchase a 2005 A6 4.2. Driving it is great.

There are a few minor anoyances related to the MMI
[ol][*]Sirius satelitte radio seems to have problems linking
[ol][*]I called Sirius to Setup (they had me down for 3 months free)[*]Tuned to 184 and Sirius sent the activationsignal and informed me that I would be up in 15-30 mins[*]Recieved channel listing but when tuning not channels would come in (they seemed to get stuck at linking)[*]Spent about 4 hours at a friends house on Sat Night when I left the Sirius was cnnected and recieving channels[*]After 5 minutes of driving I was no longer receiving channels (stuckat linking again)[/ol][*]Blue tooth connection drop out and in intermittently[*]CD's are not named when loaded.
[ol][*]I checked the Name CD but still no CD names[/ol][/ol]
I did some searching and found out that I may need to update my version (currently 10.7)...Since I am under warranty I assuem the dealer will do this for free...Is there anything I should tell the dealer to force a software upgrade?

Will these problems be fixed with a software upgrade? Is there any other information that could be helpful to me about MMI and these problems?

Tell the dealer that the radio is losing itssurround setting and that the radio cursor jumps around. With thosecomplaints, Audi will upgrade the MMi for free. They are currently up to version 44.1. Good luck.

Kevin...any luck with finding some article that I can show the dealer to prove 44.1 is the latest software out there. Thanks

I am told by a fellow Audi driver that you can get the disc by calling Carson inRiverside Audi's parts department. They are reportedly selling the disc for $10. As far as your dealer being unaware of MMI version 44, you should tell him to check any 08 Audi on the lot, or in his showroom, and he will see that every 08has MMI version 44. My car has been in the shop for two weeks waiting for a new steering column. Last week they had me in an 08 A6 and this weekI am in an08 Q7,being curiousI checked the MMI version in both cars and it was version 44 in both vehicles. It always amazes me how little the dealers know about their own cars. Good luck.

At my dealer those that bought new get an Audi loaner and those that bought used get Enterprise.Even though it benefits me, I have joked with the Service Advisor and asked why we don't have seperate bathrooms. He laughed and said Audi was working on it.
