Default 2005 A6 MMI Upgrade

I recently purchased a 2005 A6 and after checking the MMI SW version I see that I am at version 1027. How expensive is it to go from where I am to the latest version and what are the benefits? Where can I purchase the disc's and is this something I can do myself?

My thanks for your assistance.

The other posters are looking for MMI upgrade information, not navigation upgrade information. To the OP you have a rather old MMI version. You can order the discs through the dealer. A few people have tried using copied discs and those people have had a much higher failure rate.

I don't have the info you need in regards to what disc to use for what software version you have in your car. Search this forum and you should be able to find posts where other people have done this and what disc part numbers they had to buy in order to complete the upgrade. If I remember correctly, some of the older software versions may need an intermediate update so the latest update will load correctly. At least that's what I remember from reading other posts over the years.
