2005 Audi A6 wont start but MMI, lights, seat memory etc works fineFacebook Twitter
I just had the exact problem happen to me (2005 A6 3.2). Dealer said $2300. At what point, after reading this blog, does Audi recognize this as a recall or a need for a redesign. Having a reapir (that is not the tranny or engine) be 1/5 the value of this car is rediculous.
I just took my 06 A6 4.2L in to have the windows tinted, when I went to pick it up, had the exact same thing happen as described above. There was a VW repair shop near by, and the owner of the tint shop asked him to come over and connect a VAG-Com to see what was wrong. While I was inside calling to get a tow, they came in and said after they cleared the fault codes (unfortunately they didn't make a note of them) my car started right up ...and has run fine for the past few days....
I am having the same problem steering lock module on an 05 A6 Quattro, I have an opportunity to buy a used steering column with a one year warranty. I called three Audi dealers to see if the used module can be rwiped and reprogrammed they say no, so I asked them if a new one is programmed wrong, do you eat it or are able to reprogram it they would not comment. What kind of scam is this!
Parting out white 2005 A6 with sport package. 5 18" sport wheels with 4 like new tires and 1 60% spare. Car is hit in front but fenders appear to be good with some minor scuffing. Car has about 135-140k miles. Has tan interior. Contact with needs. Thanks
Sunday afternoon, my '06 A6 wouldn't start. Came across this forum and decided to have the car towed to the dealer as I was experiencing the exact same issues. They came back to me today with a quote of over $3100. Told me that the steering column, plus another module will need to replaced, plus 7 hours of labor. That seems ridiculously high to me, especially given others comments about this repair being in the $2000 range.
DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO INITIATE A RECALL REQUEST FOR AUDI TO ADDRESS THE STEERING COLUMN, ACCESS CONTROL MODULE ISSUE
