2006 A6 turn signal not operative

My 2006 A6's rear left turn signal is not flashing. I took the tail light assembly off and all the bulbs are good. Does any one know how to get the turn signal to flash predictably? All input appreciated

Are you getting the error message on the dashboard?

turn signal relay which is part of the emergency flasher unit. just had this issue myself.
This is assuming the turn signal lights up but doesn't flash.
