3k is not high revs... you car can take more, actually it is good for your car to be pushed higher than that but i would not redline it constantly either. IN my daily commute I usually drive in town or traffic and hardly go above 3000-3500 rpms. But i often let her rip when there is an opening in traffic. IMO you could drive at 5k daily and be just fine,but you'll use more gas It is also a matter of preference.

With my 4.2, in daily driving I tend to shift between 2.5 and 3k rpm. For the much more spirited driving days, I've gone to 7k. Getting up to 75mph in second gear... [sm=gears.gif]
