Where are the A6 4.2 owners at? I just acquired a 2001 4.6 and I don't know much about Audi It needs transmission work so I'm wondering what transmission are interchangeable if any? Also any other helpful info about Audi's again i am totally new to Audi.

Transmissions are expensive to repair. I think $2500 is the current minimum rate with the number going up from there. Call Shokan and they can help guide you through what used transmissions will fit and what they go for on the used market. You will probably find that a good rebuild with new parts is more cost and peace of mind effective then an unknown used transmission with all the same junk parts that failed in your transmission.
